Garden Design ServiceS
Gardens are living systems, not finished objects.
I design gardens as places of beauty first—spaces to live in, spend time in, and return to. Beautiful gardens are possible and not at the cost of functionality: gardens must work for the people who use them, across seasons and over years.
Biodiversity supports this, creating resilience, supporting wildlife, and reducing the need for constant intervention—so the garden can flourish with less effort and cost over time.
Through consultation, concept design, and planting design, I can establish a garden for you that relies less on control and constant maintenance, and more on observation, adaptability, and collaboration with nature.
Garden Consultation
Garden consultations offer expert guidance without the commitment of a full design process.
They are a focused, on-site discussion that helps clarify ideas, identify opportunities, and resolve challenges—providing clear direction and practical next steps. Consultations are ideal for gaining confidence, prioritising effort and budget, or testing ideas before moving into design or construction.
Best suited to early decision-making, troubleshooting, post-build guidance or ongoing mentoring.

Concept Design
Concept Design defines the underlying structure of the garden.
It resolves how the site will function, feel, and relate to its surroundings—considering spatial layout, relationships, budget realities, and long-term development. This stage establishes a clear framework that guides future decisions, supports staged implementation, and ensures the garden evolves as a cohesive whole.
Best suited to new projects, major changes or situations requiring clarity before committing resources.

Planting Design
Planting Design transforms structure into experience, bringing life, character and long-term resilience to a garden.
Plants are carefully selected and arranged to shape space, create seasonal interest, and respond to soil, climate, and maintenance expectations. By designing for growth, resilience, and change over time, planting schemes are both cost-effective and enduring—resulting in gardens that improve rather than decline with age.
Best suited to gardens with an established layout, satisfactory structures or a completed concept design.

A considered approach
Every garden is different. I provide a bespoke service and prices should be viewed as a guide only. All services can be engaged individually or combined, depending on your needs, timeframe and budget.
Each stage builds on the last, and all projects start with a consultation. My thorough service allows the garden to be developed thoughtfully, efficiently, and with a clear sense of purpose—now and into the future.
